Rowing Cares Camp

Rowing Cares is thrilled to announce the first winter training camp for cancer survivors. The camp will focus on sweep rowing. We invite you to close out 2024 learning from outstanding coaches while thriving in the company of other survivors. Every day you will row alongside dolphins, manatees, yachts and sailboats. When not on the water, there will be educational sessions including The Physics of Rowing, Mental Performance/Mindfulness, Training for Rowing, and the Foundations of Technique as well as tons of down-time to meet all of your new friends.

Secret City Head Race

Oct 12, 2024 To Oct 13, 2024 697 Melton Lake Drive, Oak Ridge, TN. Hosted By: Oak Ridge Rowing Association, Inc.

The regatta features a traditional downstream course on Saturday and a throwback upstream course on Sunday. Both courses are 5000m and offer beautiful scenery and a challenging steering course that includes sweeping turns and bridges. Maps of the courses are posted below. They are completely independent, sharing only the same 5000-meter finish line. Watch for bald eagles and osprey on the downstream course. Heron sightings will be plentiful on the upstream course.

Events are offered on both days to allow coaches and athletes a wide variety of options to enter multiple events and multiple boatings.

Row 5K Oar BUST!

Three years ago, a fabulous new rowing team - the Hydrow Shorties - joined the Pink the Boathouse Challenge and quickly became a top fundraising team. Now, this dynamic national group is stepping up again, hosting their 2nd annual virtual erg event throughout April - Row 5K Oar BUST! and they invite everyone to join the challenge.

"We work out on the Hydrow erg and use its interactive, social media capabilities to encourage and support one another - holding competitions, building a community, and, most importantly to our story, fundraise for causes we are passionate about,” said Erin Naber, team captain for the Shorties. "In our group, we have survivors, ladies currently undergoing treatment, and all of us have friends, family members, and/or coworkers who have fought or are fighting breast cancer. We are excited to host our 2nd annual Rowing Cares event and support those who need our help.“
